Rumi Shivaz – “Put Things Behind You Quickly”

Rumi Shivaz is an innovation consultant in Wellington, New Zealand.

Here he talks about how we need to be able to put things behind us quickly, so that we can move on and continue with life. He uses the example of professional golfers. This is a really important lesson, and Rumi describes it brilliantly.

    This is gold Rumi!

I’ve had the worst month and it’s been so hard to shake it off but this weekend has really made me realise I need to hold on tight to my original vision of http://www.Kick.it and push it like I planned at the end of last year.

I’m 26, almost 27 and if I had known this wisdom earlier on in life I’m sure I would have avoided some major problems!

My advice for the kids at school now is: Keep pushing to be you, you know who you are and what you love, dream big, find people who have similar passions, work together and make ideas happen, you are always going to fail, but it’s not about how fast you fall, it’s about how fast you get up and what you learnt from that fall so you don’t fall again.

Learning never stops, train yourself to be good at learning new things, dealing with things “in the moment” and with things you haven’t planned for. With such a rapidly changing world it must be daunting for the youth of this generation but I think you have the best opportunity in history to change the world into how you think it should be.

Just because you’re young doesn’t mean your opinion doesn’t count, we are the children who have inherited the baby boomers legacy, we didn’t cause this shit but it looks like we’re going to have to fix it.

Huge props to Michael Moore-Jones for getting tdtytis up and creating a place for the youth of NZ (and the world) to be able to learn things it’s taken people lifetimes to learn. You’re the man bro, keep up the awesome work :)
